[conspire] Help with GRUB

Meanwhile< I discovered the file /boot/grub/device.map:

  (hd0) - /dev/sda
  (hd1) - /dev/sdb
  (hd2) - /dev/sda

This is the original version of the file written when grub was first installed.

I fixed that file, but haven't quite figured out how to get grub to believe it. Considering all of the time spent wheel spinning, it might be fastest to get out the screwdriver and disconnect sdb and sdc.
