Sorry, Ruben, your starting point for this press release is incorrect,
and you should issue a retraction. In addition, the story is totally
stale. The events you are trying to discuss happened more than a year
ago.

The main point of fact is that the OLPC project is not based on
Microsoft Windows. About 5,000 Windows units have been made, in
contrast with over a million Linux units. There will never be any
Windows-only XOs made for sale, just Linux-only and dual-boot.

The rumors reported in the press were greatly exaggerated. Sugar
software is now developed at Sugar Labs, which is not part of OLPC.
Sugar is packaged in Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, Mandriva, Caixa Magica,
and other Linux distros. Venezuela has ordered a million laptops
running Caixa Magica. An ARM version of Sugar is in development, and
the XOXO is expected to use an ARM processor, for which there is no
Windows.

Although the body of the article is correct about how awful Microsoft
is, it is irrelevant to the case.

change have come out swinging against Free Software developers who
have worked for the current Free Interface, code named Sugar. A
large segment of the critique of the against Free Software developers
like Bender is that they have put their "Open Source" agenda above the
welfare of the project.
