I am grateful for Rick Moen's BALE calendar, because it runs on Free
Software. It makes me a bit nervous that so many people, including myself,
have become so dependent on Google's non-Free services. Sure, their
services are good and are free as in beer, and Google is a great contributor
to Free Open Source Software code and activities, but it is good to have
resources like Rick Moen's database so that we are not dependent on non-Free
software SaaS for keeping track of Free Software activities and events.
