"Lamb's quarters" long ago inspired me with the idea of a "vegan
massacre" banquet.  Each course has an ingredient with a name that would
scare a vegan unnecessarily, even if it's as well-known and industrial
as "beefsteak" tomatoes.

Of course every time I think of this I poke around for some research,
and come across the legend of the barometz and just spend the next
half-hour giggling to myself.
