The drive didn't necessarily fail. The first notification says:
SMART overall-health self-assessment test result: PASSED
However, that drive is kind of old and did have complaints about performance anyway. My guess is the drive simply doesn't support all the SMART options, so the monitor can't perform all the tests. Also, the extended offline read failure was 60%, which supposedly means the drive is starting to die. You should back up all the data and get yourself a new hard drive. Hard drives don't live forever and can even fail when fairly new. The safe philosophy with hard drives is to assume they can fail at any time and employ a regular backup procedure.
