The point is, it's a particular hazard, and particularly pernicious, 
in a distribution aimed at novice Linux users (who tend to stumble into
such holes and not be well-equipped to climb out).

I expect that an escalating percentage of bug reports with newer Ubuntu
releases owe largely to the demographic, more than to bugs.
