No, just kernels.
It was Kubuntu for i386, which means that all binaries are compiled to
run on any IA32 (Intel and compatible 32-bit x86 platform) CPU, using
i386 optimisation.
If you example KPackage, Synaptic, or whatever for additional
installable kernel packages, you'll probably find one compiled with K6
optimisation. There aren't IA32 Kubuntu images with compile optimisation
of _all_ packages higher than i386 -- probably nothing like sufficient
performance benefit to justify that.

You might want to try alternative window managers, instead of KDE /
kwin.
