I personally strongly deprecate Whitebox in favour of CentOS. Here's
why: Whitebox is maintained by just one guy, in his spare time away from
working at a public library district in Louisiana -- and occasionally
has had serious maintenance problems when he's not had time to work on
it, and hasn't given anyone access to the build tree.

CentOS is backed by a broad-based community, and is _well_ maintained.

We recently saw the disadvantage of the Whitebox approach through the
example of another RHEL rebuild, Taos Linux. That, too, was maintained
by merely one other guy, who recently gave up the effort -- and urged
all his users to migrate to CentOS.

A lot of people mention Whitebox prominently because it was the _first_
RHEL rebuild, and thus gets a lot of brand recognition. However, CentOS
is (IMVAO) better in every way, filling exactly the same niche.

Say, Alvin, since you probably have a lot better access to bandwidth
than I have here at my house, maybe you (or Tim) wouldn't mind
downloading SLES-10-AMD64-EM64T-DVD1.iso from http://www.novell.com/ .

I'll pulling it down at the moment onto my Ubuntu "Dapper Drake" iBook G3,
but don't think it'll arrive in time for CABAL.  (It's not a big thing;
I don't know anyone will actually need SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
for AMD64, and the ISO _will_ get here eventually.)
