Of course, the matter is entirely at Tony's discretion -- but my
experience is that taking BART from Millbrae to somewhere close to an
East Bay destination, and then a local bus from there, is far and away
the fastest and most comfortable alternative.  And its weekend service
is much more frequent than is CalTrain's.

(The 1.5 km hike or bus link from 4th & King to 1st & Mission's a bit of
a pain, too.)

I'm not a fan of the BART system in general, but it has its uses.
