Oops! I had not considered that you might have installed grub into the MBR
rather than the superblock. If you had installed into the superblock and
moved the active flag to that partition, my instructions would at least
leave the computer in a bootable state. Additionally, Knoppix installation
by default installs lilo rather than grub, which would also have prevented
this problem. Looks like now José will need to make a boot floppy just to
make the computer boot from the hard disk again.
