Letter transcribed below was undated, but its envelope was postmarked Sept. 13, 2004, in Oakland, CA. Linux Users Group of Davis P.O. Box 837 Davis, CA 95617 Rick Moen 2033 Sharon Road Menlo Park, CA 94025-6246 Mr Moen: You maintain publically accessible web pages[1,2] that make strong and inaccurate claims about the Linux Users Group of Davis (LUGOD) and a former officer of LUGOD, Peter Jay Salzman. We are aware of the history of these complaints, which center around the administrative policies of LUGOD's mailing lists. The officers have made a good-faith effort to thoroughly address these complains. Yet the strong and inaccurate claims remain in public view. These statements may constitute libel. While the officers of LUGOD have no wish to stir up conflict, these strong and inaccurate statements must be removed. The events referenced are over and Mr Salzman is no longer an officer of LUGOD. Regardless of whether it ever was appropriate to respond to your dissatisfaction with LUGOD as you did, your web pages are certainly not appropriate now. If you any further complaints and wish to discuss them in good faith, we invite you to contact us directly. Sincerely /s/ Bill Kendrick President [1] http://www.linuxmafia.com/~rick/linux-info/lugod.html [2] http://www.linuxmafia.com/bale/
