Kukje Super Market, 2350 Junipero Serra Blvd., near 87th Street, Daly City. Korean market. Large, cheap, well-equipped. 8am - 10pm.
Jagalchi, 63 Serramonte Center Mall (take I-280's Serramonte Blvd. exit west, then turn north into mall lot), Daly City. Korean full-service grocery store, plus seafood and meat selection, prepared foods, bakery, and coffee/matcha counter, combined. 10am - 10pm.
99 Ranch Market, 250 Skyline Plaza, near Westmoor Ave. / Skyline Blvd., Daly City. Chinese-mostly, pan-East Asian market. Fr-Su 8am - 10pm, Mo-Th 9am - 9pm.

H & R Market, 572 San Mateo Ave, just over a block north of San Bruno Ave, San Bruno. Chinese market, small but well-stocked. Often praised for fresh seafood and meat. 10am - 6:30pm.

Sun's Market, 131 El Camino Real, just over a block north of Millbrae Ave., Millbrae. Korean and pan-East-Asian market, small but well-supplied. 9am - 7pm.

Osaka Marketplace, 919 Edgewater Blvd., south of Beach Park Blvd., Foster City. Japanese full-service grocery, plus a large variety of to-go foods, including sushi. 9am - 9pm.

Suruki Supermarket, 71 E. 4th Ave., near San Mateo Drive, San Mateo. Japanese market, top-rated on Yelp. Also prepared meals and sashimi. 10am - 5pm.
Nijiya Market, 1956 S. El Camino Real, near 20th Ave., San Mateo. Japanese market, smaller than some of the others, prized for its fresh meals. 10am - 9pm.
Takahashi Market, 221 S. Claremont Street, near 3rd Ave., San Mateo. Japanense small market, but what people rave about is its prepared foods. 11am - 4pm.
Hashi Market, 2992 S. Norfolk Street, south of CA-92 at La Selva Ave., San Mateo. Japanese/Korean and pan-East Asian Market. Large. 8am - 8pm.

Mega Mart, 1775 E. Bayshore Road (across from Ikea), East Palo Alto. Korean-mostly food market, large, with excellent kitchenware aisle. 8am - 9pm.

Nijiya Market, 143 E El Camino Real, between Grant Road and CA-85, Mountain View. Japanese full-service supermarket, fresh sushi-grade fish, sliced meats, prepared foods and imported sweet-and-savory snacks. 9am - 10pm.
Easy Foods Company, 299 Castro Street, near W. Dana Street, Mountain View. Pan-East-Asian grocery and specialties store. Very small. 10am - 10:30pm.

Hankook Supermarket, 1092 E. El Camino Real, west of Lawrence Expressway, Sunnyvale. Korean, but also with Japanese, Chinese, and other East Asian food products. Top-reviewed on Yelp. Has more traditional Korean items compared to H-Mart and Mega Mart. 8am - 9pm.
New Wing Yuan Market, 1139 N. Lawrence Expressway, between Tasman Dr. and US-101, Sunnyvale. Chinese-mostly, pan-East Asian market. (Entire aisle of Filipino specialties.) Large market. 9am - 7pm.
Mega Mart, 760 E. El Camino Real, between S. Fair Oaks Ave. / E. Remington Dr. and S. Wolfe Road, Sunnyvale. Korean-mostly food market, large, with excellent kitchenware aisle. 8am - 9pm.
Western Pacific Filipino Grocery, 905 E. Duane Ave., between N. Wolfe Road and Lawrence Expressway, Sunnyvale. Filipino market, small but extremely well supplied, family-owned, excellent service. M-Sa 9:30am - 7pm, Su 10am - 6pm.

Mitsuwa Marketplace, 675 Saratoga Ave. at Moorpark Ave., San Jose. Japanese full-service supermarket, and one of my old favourites. 9am - 9pm.
T&T Supermarket, 1600 Saratoga Ave. at Prospect Road / W. Campbell Ave., San Jose. Japanese full-service supermarket. Large. New a/o July 2026. 8am - 10pm. Stocks GF dark soy sauce.
H-Mart, 1179 S De Anza Blvd, just north of CA-85, San Jose. Korean but somewhat pan-East Asian, big. 8am - 10pm.
H-Mart, 1710 Oakland Road at Brokaw Road, east of I-880, San Jose. Korean but somewhat pan-East Asian. 8am - 10pm.
Lion Market, 471 Saratoga Ave., just north of I-280, San Jose, Vietnamese-owned, Chinese-staffed market with a major pan-East Asian focus. 8:30am - 8pm.
Nijiya Market, 240 Jackson Street at N. 5th Street (Japantown), San Jose. Japanese smallish market, with snacks, fresh-made items, housewares. 9am - 8pm.
Santo Market, 245 E Taylor Street at N. 5th Street (Japantown), San Jose. Japanese market with somewhat limited supply of groceries: common items only. Mostly sells meals and prepared foods. 9am - 3pm.

Fugetsu Market, 3409 El Camino Real, east of Lawrence Expressway, Santa Clara. Japanese. At this writing (June 2026), appears to be mostly grab and go take out, not (yet?) a grocery. M 11:30am - 6pm, Tu-Su 11:30 - 8:30pm.
