UNIX admin: "How much can they pay?" Headhunter: "They have a some money and they can pay stock options as well. Their stock is soaring." UNIX admin: "How much can they pay?" Headhunter: "I will have to find out. Meanwhile, I have an opening at a hot new company called Start-up.website.com." UNIX admin: "How much can they pay?" Headhunter: "They don't have a lot of money yet because they are only a start-up, but they can offer stock options. Their stock is going to soar." UNIX admin: "How much can they pay?" Headhunter: "I will have to find out. Meanwhile, I have an opening at a hot new company called IPO.start-up.website.com." UNIX admin: "How much can they pay?" Headhunter: "I am not sure if they can pay competitively yet, but they can offer a lot in stock options instead. But, their stock hasn't moved yet." UNIX admin: "How much can they pay?" Headhunter: "I will have to find out. Meanwhile, I have an opening at a hot new company called Pre-IPO.start-up.website.com." UNIX admin: "How much can they pay?" Headhunter: "They are well funded and about to go on the market. They should be able to offer you stock then, possibly in lieu of high pay, and one day, that stock might be worth something." UNIX admin: "How much can they pay?" Headhunter: "I will have to find out. Meanwhile, I have an opening at a hot new company called VC.pre-IPO.start-up.website.com." UNIX admin: "How much can they pay?" Headhunter: "They have some funding but will have to pay you everything in stocks but they won't be going public for a while. Their stock isn't going to be worth much. This company is close to bankruptcy." UNIX admin: "In other words, they all pay the same." -- the unixrabbi UNIX -- not just an OS, but the geek form of birth control
