Hewlett-Packard is sponsoring the Bay Area premiere of the documentary
film "Revolution OS" during LinuxWorld San Francisco.  The film will
screen at 7 PM, on Wednesday, August 29, at the Loews Metreon theatre
(formerly known as the Sony Metreon).


"Revolution OS" tell the story of the Open Source/Free Software movement
from Richard Stallman's founding of the GNU Project through the year
2000.  Some of the people interviewed include: Linus Torvalds, Richard
Stallman, Brian Behlendorf, Bruce Perens, Eric Raymond, Michael Tiemann,
Larry Augustin, Chris DiBona, Nick Moffitt, Marc Merlin, and Rob Malda.
"Revolution OS" was filmed in 35mm Cinemascope on location in Silicon
Valley from 1999 to 2000.  Some of the events depicted in the film
include the 1999 LinuxWorld Expo, the Windows Refund Day Protest March,
and a SVLUG Installfest.  And, yes, you can see Rick Moen in the film.
