10:56 AM I signed on a bit early.<br>
<br>
Eventually and shortly after 11 AM Ken S. showed up and in<br>
a few more minutes we were joined by John S. We had<br>
to let John leave for a shower and as he left ken shared<br>
a SF-LUG ghost story as we were joined by Victor who<br>
has survived Covid<br>
<br>
John asked about Tinycore and I had some brief uninformative<br>
remarks from my experience running it in VirtualBox.<br>
John had gotten a late version of Zorin but he had failed to<br>
boot it.<br>
<br>
Victor showed up to ask Unix question of Ken. About<br>
Sort function which has been changed since his book<br>
was printed. It offers more options for sorting it<br>
seems. He left around noon.<br>
<br>
Alex showed up using his mobile phone to logon which<br>
makes it difficult for him to enter his name. By Noon he<br>
had left. Without a name entry he was "Fellow Jitser" but<br>
I may have misspelled the second alias.<br>
<br>
Aaron C. came by and is showing us the meeting notice<br>
I posted and he is investigating Ventoy, a USB solution<br>
to produce multiple installs of LIVE iso files on the<br>
Flash Drive.<br>

I did not have much applicable news for the Group<br>
but a repository is being discontinued by Canonical<br>

We need: Someone, suggested a Focus Group to see why the mailing list<br>
is so inactive. I said that a Focus Group to replace me as convener<br>
would be more helpful. Groups can convene on the mailing list and<br>
go to the< <a href="https://meet.jit.si/sf-lug.org" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">https://meet.jit.si/sf-lug.org</a>> for in person discussions.<br>

Ken left about 12:20 and I don't much blame him. Not much happening<br>
today.<br>

check-summed this "older" distro ?<br>

and 11:53 And I responded in my rough way that i had already downloaded<br>
Slackware 15 and also done the checksum.<br>
But Zenwalk based on Slackware 15 looks more interesting.<br>

And Absolute Linux is out overnight. Absolute is also based on<br>
Slackware 15.0<br>

Apparently the new year had seen a lot more activity on the part of<br>
packagers and coders.<br>

Aaron left at 12:57 and John disconnected at about the same time.<br>
I will still there when Ron BC came along having slept in on a<br>
lovely day. He has recently gotten a new hard disk as the<br>
old one expired and he has updated to 20.04.<br>

1:05 PM we signed off.<br>

I was going to include more information but I got<br>
too tired every day since the meeting to do so and this<br>
is all you get unless the meeting attendees want to<br>
add to this.<br>
