When I say 'here', I mean both released and, well, _here_ (Chez

Menlo Park), in time for this Saturday's CABAL meeting.<br>

And at SF-LUG we have the full iso files for amd64 and i386. If
anyone wants the base packages<br>
please let me know via the list. If you want just the iso files
bring your own media or specify that<br>
you need a bootable dvd let me know. I will have AntiX 17.4 amd64
on a flash drive for demo<br>
purposes. If you bring a flash drive I can easily produce a
bootable drive in a few minutes.<br>

A few points about that, for Bobbie and others:<br>
<br>
1. The .verification file documents where the files came from.<br>
<br>
2. ...plus the live distro's login credentials. (I want to avoid
the common<br>
problem of a user getting a live distro at a LUG meeting, taking
it home,<br>
and then having no idea how to login.)<br>
<br>
3. ...plus proof the ISOs pass an SHA256SUM check. (Avoids the
problem of<br>
users miscopying my files and then claiming mine were defective.)<br>
<br>
4. ...plus gpg proof of authenticity. (Proves the ISO isn't a
trojaned<br>
imposter.)<br>
<br>
I made a point of getting the 'base' flavour as well as the 'full'
one,<br>
particularly for the needs of people with very old computers with
small<br>
amounts of RAM and disk. The FAQ says: 'If you have a very old<br>
desktop/laptop with less than 256MB RAM (PII, PIII), or you want a<br>
desktop with "the basics", it is probably best to use antiX-base.'<br>
<br>
There are two more flavours (antiX-core and antiX-net) that can
run<br>
with even less, but I consider that a speciality within a
specialty.<br>
