Well, IPv4 is far from gone, and will have quite the long tail (already does).
But we're already to the point where IPv6 traffic, at least on
balance, has overtaken IPv4.
And though these days, most are dual-stack (IPv4 & IPv6), there do
still exist many that
are lagging behind, e.g. lacking IPv6, or mostly treating it like a
2nd class citizen.
And for many, IPv6 is rather to highly preferred, and IPv4 may be quite limited,
very non-preferred, or in some cases, not even available at all.
And of course having both for the long term is far from ideal,
and IPv4 has many disadvantages, so really rather overdue to
be increasingly nudging things to/towards IPv6.

Anyway, there are at least some plans about for starting to test some
IPv4 phase-out.
I was thinking some less important domains, e.g. SF-LUG's
non-canonicals, e.g. one or more of:
sf-lug.com
sflug.com
sf-lug.net
sflug.net
sflug.org
(the canonical is sf-lug.org).

The existing general plan (for participating sites) is one day (or one
hour) a month, with clear advance notice of at least a week, and
during the outage test period, a web page would still display via
IPv4, but it would indicate stuff about how one ought use and be able
to use IPv6.  And if I'm correct on what I'm guestimating on some of
the details I skimmed, dual stack clients landing on the the IPv4
should automagically make it over to IPv6, but those that were IPv4
only would remain on IPv4 only page, with information about the
outage, etc.

Anyway, I've added it to my todo/wish list (alas, it's over 6,800
lines long, and yes, many things on the list do in fact get done, but
on average it's always growing faster than it's shrinking ...  have at
least a few or more lifetimes worth of stuff on that list ... at least
I'm never lacking for things to do).
