[sf-lug] installfest. 2/21 in Hayward

Linux Installfest this weekend, Saturday Feb 21st

Straycap in Hawayrd (948 C Street) is having an installfest on 2/21 from Noon till 3 pm.  They’ve acquired about 150 Chromebooks that are no longer receiving updates and they are asking for help to install  lubuntu.  The computers are Dell model 3180 and 22T.  some computers will be ready for Linux (they boot to the bunny prompt) and others will boot to chromeOS, so some extra steps are necessary.  I’ve written a step by step instruction guide on how to remove chromeOS.

It is a very casual location and if you decide to come, you might want to bring a copy of lubuntu 25.10 on usb stick and a small screwdriver.  Food will be served.

Please spread the word to anyone who may in interested in linux or wanting to get school hours or just looking to gain some knowledge.
