Great news. Due to the efforts of Peter Mui of fit-it clinic at the ssf library, I am now running lubuntu on that asus chromebook CB3-532 ! It took many discreet steps, but Peter walked me thru most of it. With limited specs (2 gb of ram and a 16 gb ssd), it is a bit leisurely, but functional. Thanks to all who assisted.
