[sf-lug] Laptop DEV R/W drive revived...

Hi LUGers,

I got my Dell E6450 notebook/desktop replacement's DVD R/W drive revived.
About 2 or 3 years ago it stopped working.  I could do nothing to get it 
going
and all the work focused on the making of Flash Drives.

With all the updates to Kernel and other parts of the OS I had a problem 
with
the E6450 and had to do a complete reinstall of PCLinuxOS 64 and yesterday
I finalized the changes and moved it back to my main desk.  On a whim I
attempted to make a new DVD and the machine worked as intended. This was
using K3b Version 20.12.3 under kernel 5.11.13.
     This made me so happy I felt I had to share.

     So if anyone needs a DVD of a distribution let me know and I will make
you one while the DVD drive continues to operate properly.  The DVD I made
last night is MX-Linux 19.3.
