A drop down to about 80% of what it used to be.
I'd guess that this is the result of the distos getting better (more trouble free) and so the need for support within the community is diminishing.  It's my memory that when I first began attending meetings there was a lot more discussion of low level stuff- now there seems to be very little. When did you last hear anyone request a cross over ethernet cable!
