I used Palemoon for a while, but I got increasingly frustrated with
some of its quirks that weren't configurable; and then I started
seeing noise about
https://github.com/jasperla/openbsd-wip/issues/86
about how Palemoon has to use its own forks of a bunch of system
libraries. First, using forks of system libraries seems odd and
makes me wonder why it would be needed, and second, the bug
discussion seemed to suggest an unfriendly developer community.
Neither of these is a showstopper, and you should certainly try it
and see if it works for you, but I decided it wasn't really the
solution I was looking for, and went back to Firefox.
Though after updating to Firefox 75, I'm getting so tired of the
deliberate regressions to force Linux Firefox to behave like Windows
(for instance, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1621570
or the way they made it much harder to remove the hardwired ctrl-W
behavior that interferes with delete-word) that I'm once again
wondering about Firefox alternatives. I really don't want to move to
a Google controlled Chromium-based browser, but the more hours I
waste trying to work around these firefox regressions, the more I
wonder why I keep bothering.
