[sf-lug] Why I'm not a huge Comcast fan (2015 incident)

Back in Massachusetts a few years ago, AT&T was rolling out FIOS
(optical cable) and were really hard-selling it.  Very cheap, but word
got out what they were doing was removing the copper cables they were
required to share with other carriers, hoping to remove the copper
from whole streets, locking you in as a customer forever, with no
choice.  Word did get out, and you will notice few/none FIOS-available
cities on the East coast.  Cellular phones make landline phone service
irrelevant these days, wonder if all the optical cable AT&T strung is
in use at all.
