I'm confused about what you need help with. Here:
Go to http://linuxmafia.com/mailman/listinfo/sf-lug, and fill out the
'Subscribing to sf-lug' form, specifying your GMail address. A few
seconds after you press the Subscribe button, your GMail address will
receive auto-generated mail advising you the join request has been
received and awaits only your confirmation, via either a one-time hashed
URL provided or sending an e-mail reply to the Mailman robot address
sf-lug-request at linuxmafia.com. Either way, once you confirm, Mailman
will send another autogenerated mail welcoming your GMail address to the
subscriber roster.
If you concern is that, for some reason, your existing subscription
e-mail address is undeliverable, then don't worry about that. Mailman
will figure that out on its own.
It's completely unclear what 'change the address again' means, by the
way, since you didn't even say what address to change.
However, the larger context is that subscribing/unsubscribing and making
related changes like 'Please drop address A and add address B' are
actually self-service operations: You should be able to do them without
handholding unless there's some unusual problem. If you cannot do that
for some reason, then please send _offlist_ e-mail to
sf-lug-owner at linuxmafia.com .
(Please try to avoid sending 'administrivia'[1] discussions to the mailing
list. To be frank, I doubt the readership is here to read those.)
[1] 'Administrivia' in Mailman jargon means requests for listadmin help
or mail attempting to join/subscribe or leave/unsubscribe. The best
way to reach the listadmins is via the -owner address
(sf-lug-owner at linuxmafia.com). Attempts to subscribe/unsubscribe or
similar operations like changing your subscription address should be
done via the Web interface or (old school method) sending mail to the
-request address (sf-lug-request at linuxmafia.com). None of that ought to
be broadcast out to all the subscribers, please.
</hat>
(That <hat></hat> pseudo-HTML tag pair is a small technical joke
indicating that I was speaking in listadmin capacity rather than as just
another subscriber, which would normally be the case.)
