Hi LUGers,

Well it was quite a quiet meeting tonight.

I got there about 5:30 PM
By 5:40 I was set up and connected to the WiFi,
using PCLinuxOS64 now at version 19.01 from the
updates on my Dell E6540.
After 6 PM I rebooted to Deepin 15.9 and began
to learn about MultiBootUSB which is a Python script
that has to be started with root privileges using
sudo.
I found the help section referred me back to
the site of the developers.  I was futzing around
trying out stuff but did not manage to realize
the possibility of creating a USB Flash drive with
multiple rescue tools but will be trying this again
later,

Jim S. showed up and he had the same problem
with his cute ZaReason laptop that he had before.
It now takes forever to boot up and has no WiFi
when it gets to the desktop.

I showed Jim that his machine worked from
the Ubuntu 18.04.1 USB Flash Drive I had made
for him after the last meeting with a faster boot
  and a working WiFi.
Since the meeting I have mailed him a
copy of the manual for this machine and
a URL for the problem that may give
useful advice.  He can connect at home via
Ethernet wired connection.
At about 07:30 PM we decided to leave
and Jim kindly gave me a ride home.

At the meeting but not demonstrated
was a USB Flash Drive with Parrot 4.5 using
Mate for the amd64.
Also I had the latest updates for the
Live Clonezilla in amd64, i686-pae and
i686.

So not much happened at the meeting
but I hate to not give details so here is
part of the "fun" I have been having at
home...

In the middle of last week I did a bad update
and my net connection on my workhorse Dell E6520
notebook was wiped out.  I did several re-installations
of PCLinuxOS64 but was unable to restore the net
connection capability.  But I have tested the notebook
with the Parrot USB Flash Drive and it connected
at once so I will try another re-install later in
the week.

Now a 3rd problem for your delectation as
last week it seems the printer driver for my
consumer Epson 515NX has disappeared from
CUPS recently.
Any suggestions on these matters will be
as welcome as it may be useful,

The next meeting will be on Sunday February 3
at the Cafe Enchante from 11 AM to 1 PM.
I should have a regular notice out by next Monday.

Anyone attending the meeting is free to correct my omissions or
incomprehension of the activities and asked to do so asap so that the
membership not in attendance will not be mis-informed any longer
than necessary.    ;^]
