Hi LUGers,

Well I got to Cafe Enchante at about 5:35 PM and the
large table being full of Apple users I went to the table
near the front window and setup with a few problems.

     6 PM Maestro came in.
He sat at the large table which was slowly clearing
and a few minutes later I moved to the large table
myself.

6:15 PM Eric came in to see if we could help with his
Lenova Model 10 netbook.   Though we tried for nearly
a couple of hours we were ultimately unsuccessful but
I understand that a German site has some help.
I believe that as stated in some sites the Lenova
BIOS is the problem but if it could be circumvented we
might have had success.
Well I had UPLOS written to disk and if you remember
from my previous message this is a 32 bit distribution
based on PCLinuxOS by community user/developers
and I used the latest Distro on the site using Mate.
It was very nice looking with lots of tools.

I haven't puzzled out the Task panel system in
Mate but it is a one step procedure to move the task
panel to the top of the display.
I had Kali 2018.1 disks as well and while trying to
help Eric,  wrote two Flash Drives, neither of which
resolved his problems.

7:45 PM I started packing up my equipment and by
8 PM we had left.  We won't be seeing Eric any time
soon as he will be moving to a northerly state.

It was Presidents Day on Monday, a holiday so that
the Cafe Enchante was full of people trying to get
work done.  It was also cooling off all afternoon and
into the evening so I was wearing more layers of
clothes to the meeting than any other time I can
recall in the last 12 years.
I cannot blame people who could not pull together
an appropriately warm ensemble for not showing up.

The next meeting will be on Sunday March 4, 2018
so you should be looking for the meeting notice around
February 26.

Stay warm.  Enjoy Holi and the Full Moon on March 2.
