Hi LUGers,
SF-LUG meets every third Monday from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
and every first Sunday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.
at the Cafe Enchante, 26th and Geary Boulevard.
These meetings are usually lightly attended with a high for the
year so far of 7 members. If you have a problem come along
and maybe we can help but if not we can usually find someone
who can.
If anyone wants a copy of any disk mentioned recently in
these notes please let me know in advance of the meeting.
Kali 17.0 is a specialized Linux distribution for people who
want to trace intrusions or some say to intrude.
System Rescue CD 5.0.0 is available and you need to have
a good copy when you have a problem.
Slackel 7.0 is on hand and lets you install a version of Slackware
and is based on a similar system Salix and Slackware current branch.
Today May 8 downloaded and installed on the Dell the
OpenMandrivaLx.3.01.1-PLASMA.x86_64.iso which was disappointing.
We have Long Term Support versions of Ubuntu and many of its
alternative DEs, Ubuntu Mate, Lubuntu, Kubuntu and so on.
If the problems with the distribution of Linux Pro magazine go on
much longer I am afraid I will have to subscribe.
