FWIW, the webpage 'Completely Secure: 11 Must-Have Firefox Addons For Security' at http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/completely-secure-11-must-have-firefox-addons-security/ *also* recommends NoScript for this.

I also use this site's recommended HTTPS Everywhere add-on https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere for some slightly enhanced browser security.
And despite the faux-sympathy crippleware notices that invariably pop up to let my guard down, I *keep* Adblock Plus https://adblockplus.org/ up and running in order to block the annoying ads that would otherwise continuously be foisted upon me :/
