Yes, ... first spotted here:

Yep ... once upon a time, used computers from a
Teletype ASR-33 ... heck, it was first interface
I ever touched to a computer. And when I very first
used Unix, one of the terminals was a hardcopy
terminal - though that one may have been different
model - or even make - by then. One can also see
(and hear) why shorter commands were generally
preferred, along with generally more terse
output. A fairly loud additional noise for
each printed character echoed back on input
or printed on output. Yeah, who wants the
extra noise or wasted paper. Had much
advantage ... still does when output is
not wasted/excessive (yeah, most of the time
I don't want some animated progress meter or
line-by-line constant updating of progress -
especially if I didn't ask for verbose or
the like). Ah, if only more programs were
more like modern dd(1) ... if I really wanna know,
there's SIGUSR1.
Ah, handy to have rsynced copy of the list mbox file ...
makes searching some stuff out much faster and easier.
Alas, Google.com, etc., is not a replacement for
grep, fgrep, egrep, ...
