It's always serendipitous and delightful when a man page is so well
written that you can use it as a tutorial -- albeit that's not the purpose
they're written to serve.
That having been said, much can be said for sitting down with a big pot
of coffee on a weekend and doing:
$ for i in /usr/share/man/man*; do man $i/*; done
By the end of the weekend, you'll be bleary-eyed and a bit bewildered,
but have learned a bunch of things.
