It would indeed have been very amusing _had_ Canonical, Ltd. used
Zenial, but they didn't.  Please see:

Ever since Ubuntu's second release Hoary Hedgehog (5.04) in April 2005,
they've used a distinctive and consistent form of humourous
alliteration for the release names, with the same letter and sound used
to begin both the adjective and the noun:
