from 'left field' but have you checked that your drivers have been
constantly updated when you've run upgrades to CURRENT and/or possibly have
a F.L.O.S.S.(Free and Open...) alternative(s) in the current linux driver
'pool'(s)?

i have learned there are times when the drivers don't make it in the
upgrade and one doesn't know this as it's NOT reported in the output.

also can 'clean' up your ubuntu...
