     SF-LUG meets every third Monday from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
and every first Sunday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.
at the Cafe Enchante, 26th and Geary Boulevard.

     These meetings are usually lightly attended with a high for the
year so far of 7 members. If you have a problem come along
and maybe we can help but if not we can usually find someone
who can.
     Oh and at the last meeting I failed to bring along the latest
Linux Pro magazine. Now it is in the case and ready to travel.

Fresh distributions in the library:
   4MLinux-13.1.iso is out and fits on a CD seems less impressive,
more like a mainstream distribution. Might be ideal on an older
machine.
     ultimate-edition-4.6-x64-gamers.iso was downloaded but the
first attempt from the Source Forge was incomplete so I torrented
it on Sunday evening and should have it on disk by the meeting.
     manjaro-mate-2015.09-1-x86_64.iso seems to have some interesting
capabilities but no time yet to try it out.
     I wanted to have a fresh set of gparted-live-0.23.0-1-xxx.isos and get
them on CD but the same problem with Source Forge arose have caused
problems with that goal.

     Now wearing another hat than meeting facilitator for SF-LUG,
I happened to run across a few online items that may be of
help to a user with problems that are all too common.

     Video Problems
     An excellent article at:
<http://www.linux.com/news/software/multimedia/852394-your-best-bet-for-video-playback-in-linux>
     Some new tools and some changes in names to old standbys.

     Black Screen at StartUp? X First Aid Kit!
<http://freedompenguin.com/articles/how-to/the-x-first-aid-kit-for-linux/>
     Illustrated with screen shots covering a lot of bases.
     Wish he had written it earlier.

        Finally how to install Linux to a Flash Drive
     not as a Installation Media but as a system!
     Good luck with this one. Scroll down to see the article.

     Personally rather than a Flash Drive I would prefer a
an external hard drive or SSD with the highest speed
adapter for the buses available but the USB is the most
widely used.

     Hope to see a few of us at the meeting at least.
