Key opportunity to lead architecture/ development into Cloud, & DevOps
Strong preference for Amazon based (AWS, etc.), must have strong
relevant Cloud experience: successfully architecting and deploying or
leading deployment. Must have sufficient knowledge/experience to
deploy, maintain, troubleshoot. Must have strong skills working with
teams, leading, collaborating successfully, etc.
Must be sufficiently skilled in one or more high-level
programming/scripting language applicable for Linux/Unix environments
relevant for deployment, administration, and general DevOps, notably
shell (bash/POSIX), and also Python and/or Perl.
Must have relevant knowledge/experience with relevant
tools/software for architecting, setting up, deploying, and maintaining
installations, including Cloud based (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.)
Must have sufficient Linux/Unix and networking knowledge, skills,
and experience to handle troubleshooting, knowing how to perform routine
requests, be able to implement solutions and automate, sufficient
knowledge of fundamentals and security, etc.
Prefer candidate also experienced with and knowledgeable of: Linux:
Red Hat & CentOS, Solaris 10 / SunOS 5.10 i86pc, BIG-IP/f5 LTM & GTM,
A10, load balancers and firewalls in general, etc. NOSQL databases
(MongoDB, etc.) & SQL (especially Oracle) DB experience & knowledge also
a plus.

Responsibilities
A new team is being setup to build and launch a new exciting
service within Verizon. We are looking for the brightest DevOps Engineer
to join us for this great opportunity. Team will be working in a startup
mode with the latest technologies to deploy a state-of-the-art Mobile
Service in the Cloud (e.g. AWS).
Ideal candidate will be able to:
· Lead a team of DevOps/Ops engineers to plan, deploy,
manage and scale complex software systems in the Cloud
· Automate system deployment, monitoring, alarming, scaling
in the Cloud
· Build infrastructure and tooling that is required to
deploy a high number of service components daily while maintaining
up-time and a seamless end-user experience
· Bridge between Development and Operations and understand
the requirements of each discipline; communicate well between teams
· Have the desire to understand the system end to end and
troubleshoot it
Qualifications
Education: B.S. Computer Science or related field
Experience:
5+ years of Development/Operation/SysAdmin/DevOps experience, with
strong knowledge and experience of:
Programing: Shell script, Python; java is a plus
Application: Application troubleshooting (java),
Apache/NGINX/HAProxy configuration
System Admin: Linux system administration and configuration tools.
Solid understanding of the Linux/Unix operating system.
Configuration Management and Build Automation: Ansible, Salt,
Jenkins/Bamboo
Cloud Computing: AWS (EC2, ECS, S3, etc.), AWS-CLI and APIs; Docker
Logging/Monitoring/Reporting: ELK, Nagios, AWS CloudWatch
Data Store - NOSQL DB (MongoDB, Hbase, Cassandra, Elasticsearch),
Kafka and Hadoop is a plus
Networking: TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, DNS, Subnet/VLAN, Routing, SSL Cert,
Load Balancing, VPN; AWS VPC, ELB, Route 53, VPG
