Hi LUGers,

Well John S. got to the Cafe Enchante before i did but waited on
the sidewalk till I got up to the door about 5:50 PM. He helped me
set up a couple of tables and broke out his laptop.
Maestro showed up after a short time to browse the web and
offer his commentary.
Mike, a possible client of John's, showed up and talked about
installing to older computers. I gave him a copy Knoppix 7.5 for
this purpose. He has more than one and was not forthcoming
about the hardware except it was old.

Now when I got to cafe I began to setup my notebook but it
would not boot my OS, Mageia 4.1. I had done updates that
afternoon and apparently one of the packages came up short.
Nothing wrong with the hardware which I proved by booting
another OS. I did finally manage to get to my root account and
sent in a very incomplete bug report.
That incomplete bug report though has garnered some invaluable
advice from people on the list.
After 7 PM Jim Stockford showed up.
Some of the people there found the the Linux Pro magazines
of interest.
But no one wanted copies of the disks of the month for the newer
magazine, openSuze 64-bit and Makulu 32-bit.

About 7:45 I began to pack up my notebook, disks and cabling..
After 8 PM we broke up the meeting and Jim gave me a ride home.

I was up until about 2 AM getting Mageia re-installed which is not
strictly speaking a part of, but the result, of the meeting. I simply
wanted to restore my connectivity. Anyway the resulting exhaustion
from working so late has delayed this note.

The next meeting at the Cafe Enchante will be on Sunday June 7th, 2015.
Hope more of you can make it. I should have copies of the latest
Fedora
by then.

If any of the attendees have additional remarks to submit please do
so as
soon as possible.

     Thanks for your attention!

     Bobbie Sellers
