     I had a bad time with the importation of Thunderbird's old mail and 
newsgroups including
preferences and address books.  Finally this AM I marked the 
/.thunderbird as /Xthunderbird
and started Thunderbird up when it gave me a chance to manually 
reconfigure the Tb machine.
     It seems the Import tool in the Tools menu will not work as it 
hangs where it should give
a requester.  At least I have my mail again on my new HP Pavilion notebook.
     Still having problems with correcting the bad extra partition mounting.
     On the Mandriva derivatives I would have gone into the Control 
Center and fixed this
in  a few minutes.

     Good to be back in the e-mail net community again.
