[sf-lug] Resurrecting an Asus EeePC 701 4GB

Hello,
I have this old laptop, and I want to get it working, if only to then sell
it or give it away.
Unfortunately, when I try boot it, I end up with a flashing cursor in the
top left.
I've used unetbootin to create a bootable USB stick with Puppy, and also
with Xubuntu. But when I try to boot those, the same thing happens.

I plan to bring this machine to Noisebridge next week, but if anyone had
any suggestions before then, that would be great.
