[sf-lug] What files are required to back up my "configuration"?

Assuming it's the same version and the dot files have a corresponding
application installed that should
cover most of your use cases. (ie. your .gimp folder won't do
anything if you don't have gimp installed)
If your config has a global /etc file that you modified, then you'll
need to update those.
That being said.. usually, I just rsync (equivalent copy) the files to
my new $HOME, and call it a day.
