Depends on the wipe method selected.  The default 'autowipe' method[1] is
maybe 4 hours.  Technically, it depends on the CPU and hard drive
speed (mostly the latter).  There's a progress (percentage) indicator
on-screen.

[1] What is called '3-pass DoD wiping'.  There are more-thorough wipiing
options, too.
