If The Man wants to impose silly requirements for the use of company
resources, then The Man can do so, because those resources are his, not
yours.
While working under those conditions, I suppose you could keep handy a
personal laptop/tablet/smartphone loaded with your preferred software,
and use independent personal Internet access you are paying for on it
(e.g., over cell modem). Or, if you'd rather not pay for that option,
then the obvious alternative is to just wait until you go home before
enjoying personal Internet access the way you like it. And, by
contrast, while you're at work, do work, in the fashion the boss wants.
