I used to do something similar when I worked for a Nazi-esque comapny. 
I'd boot my Windows PC into Linux running on a USB drive, and did all my 
work there.  At the end of the day, I'd reboot the computer, remove the 
USB drive, and - voila - back to the Windows PC.
