[sf-lug] SF Lug meeting Sunday. December 2, 2012

     SF-LUG meets every first Sunday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.
at the Cafe Enchante, 26th and Geary Boulevard.

     These meetings are usually lightly attended with a high for the
year so far of 6 members.   If you have a problem come along
and maybe we can help but if not we can usually find someone
who can.

     The previous meeting has been discussed by other parties.
but basically at the last meeting Alex K. showed up and Jim
Stockford.   I showed them the PCLinux OS Full Monte version
and found the trick to getting the open folders off the main
screen.  Not sure their is a way around the other features but
it seems to be a standard 32 bit implementation with KDE
4.8.3, including a full set of the best tools including Kate
and VLC.
     Jim and Alex discussed a programming problem and studied
there manuals as I played with my Full Monte.

     People keep asking why I look at a wide variety of distributions
but keep on using the same OS.   And I simply enjoy looking at
what other people have done with the work using almost always
the same basic programs and kernels.  If we go into 2013 without
  Mandriva PowerPack 2012 in an acceptable package then
I might switch to Kubuntu or to PCLinux OS.
