[sf-lug] Installing flash player update on ubuntu 10.4 lts

Installed Ubuntu on a laptop and trying to run youtube.  It says that my adobe flash player needs to be updated.  Download the file (.rpm) format and don't know exactly what to do,

In the spirit of the season, can someone give step by step directions?  I guess I never learned how to do this.
