re: Amazon refund for Windows
I too was given the runaround. I replied that the EULA stated that the
vendor you purchased the computer w/OEM OS will refund the cost of the
software.
They promptly replied and informed me that a credit will be applied to my
credit card account.

If all else fails call customer service...
