a lot of us have to get our workday done before we can
go vote.

assuming anyone's reading this and is waffling -
DON'T, PLEASE.

i encourage you to grit your teeth and contribute.
even at this late date, you can find plenty of 'voter
guides' and thumbnails on the issues - 30 to 45
minutes' research will give you a clear view of how to
vote on certain key issues, and if you don't know how
you want to vote on a candidate or issue, just leave
that one blank.

if you feel its a failed effort, so be it - there are
many things you can do directly to influence your
immediate community, and i heartily encourage you to
do so... working on christian's KIPP outreach project
for example. that's social/political action happening
right here in our very own SF-LUG. it's an example of
something which does reach out and help the community,
probably a lot more effectively than electing some
figurehead with unknown puppet strings above him...

but i digress.

even if the gesture of voting is symbolic [ahem, and i
think that's been pretty well proven over the last
decade or so], there is power in symbolism.

boots on the ground, gang. i'll be walking over to
the polling place around 6, myself...see you there? ;D
