Yes, I've downloaded 8.04 using bittorrent and these took just a few
hours over broadband. By these I mean one CD version and one DVD
version; just last night.
My experience, FWIW, is that when a release is new and many people are
simultaneously downloading, bittorrent seems to thrive and happily
download without delay or cloggage.
