hi,
This is an invitation from Kari Gray, an accomplished outreach worker,
regarding a very large tech demo event here in San Francisco. I would like
to recommend that you set aside the day, April 26, to come down to speak
with the hundreds of Windows newbies who will be coming to this event. We
will be needing volunteers to sign up for this event. It would also be
great if we could get a sign up list on the SF-LUG site. I can put such a
sign up list on the Digital Tipping Point site, but since SF-LUG is
mentioned in the promotional material, it would probably make much more
sense for SF-LUG to be mentioned there.
This will be a great opportunity to demo Free Software for the hundreds of
newbies and non-profits which attend. Thanks.

Greetings,
You are invited to participate in a free Tech Connect Technology Resource
Fair.
April 26, 2008
Mission District Tech Connect Resource Fair

Access to information technology is increasingly necessary to obtain
employment, education opportunities, health information and city
services.
This free public event is for an estimated 200 families, low-income
and limited English-speaking Mission District residents. The event
will be bilingual, with Spanish language workshops and demonstrations
of Spanish-language online resources.
Certified Caminos Pathways technicians and SF Connect volunteers will
offer computer problem diagnosis and repair of simple problems. SF
Connect volunteers and partners (that's you) will also offer
installation of free open source software and FREE technology
workshops and information in Spanish and English.
You are invited to participate by providing a workshop or
desmonstrating your online resources. Please complete the attached
form as soon as possible and return to Kari Gray,
kari.gray at sfconnect.org, fax (415) 358-8112 to guarantee a space in
the program. Additional details will be provided after receipt of
application.
Please complete the form even if you have already told me that you
will participate. This will help keep my records accurate.
I will also send you a flyer and promotional information for your
organization to distribute.
Presented by SF Connect, the City and County of San Francisco and the
Mission District Community.
Partners include: Arriba Juntos; Caminos Pathways; Department of
Telecommunications and Information Services; Good Samaritan; Hamilton
Family Center; Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services; Mission
Language and Vocational Services (MLVS); Mission Housing Development
Corporation; Mission Neighborhood Centers; One Economy Corporation

engages individual volunteers along with the public, private and
non-profit sectors to bridge San Francisco's digital divide and
increase technology access for all City residents.
