Rick,
I enjoyed reading your history of CABAL
and also want to mention that your ending with
:r! cal puzzled me for a short time but having been 
recently trying to switch to using vim for routine 
editing I soon figured it out for what it is and in 
the process learned a functionality about which I 
didn't know. Thank you.
