    yes, the idea of the event is to install and configure ubuntu
on repurposed, rebuilt machines. anyone who joins is likely
to learn at least a little something. we expect the machines
to be working (at least mostly--we'll try to set up a repair
bench just in case).
    note that the date of Saturday, February 16 is tentative so
far, but looks like the event will certainly happen.
    if you like, hitch a ride to Alameda County Computer
Resource Center in Berkeley and volunteer in their build
process:

    i'll be going over there upon occasion and usually have
space and glad for company.
