I'm amused that "mutt" decoded it like a champ, but everything else had
problems.  Probably some weird little MIME glitch -- that may not ever
recur.  (I'm sort of resigned to UTF-8 as an eventual replacement to ISO
8859-1 aka Latin-1, which in turn replaced ASCII.  At least it's not the
monstrosity that is full Unicode.)
